      Hello,
      The main idea here is to not use any coded controller and only simple ON/OFF valves. It can be contolled by any relay logic (electric or mechanical).
      Hydrostatic valve type are I think more reliable and easy to adjust than other valves.

      FDA requires alarms, therefore controller logic. the clinicians here do not like hydrostatic solution, they say it will create a lot of mess. ventilators must be able to be moved during transport and will get knocked over frequently. from physics perspective, i agree hydrostatic is simple but clinically impractical. we are trying to balance all these different demands

      Which alarms does it require? It might also be done without controller.

      For countries with health organization and laws enforcement, this does make completly sense as advance material are available, but in some country it might be something simple or nothing.
