Remote Procedural Skills Training Laptop Setup

Note: It is recommended that Instructor hosts web meeting so that they can have control of participants (muting participants/allow video recording etc)

Instructor Zoom settings

  • Enable screen sharing
    • under /\ on zoom Share Screen button, Advanced Sharing options
      • under “Who can share?” select All Participants
      • under “Who can start sharing when someone else is sharing?” select All Participants

Instructor laptop / Head Cam

  • Head mount webcam
  • Sign on to zoom/start web meeting
  • Share video
    • swap head mount webcam/front cam: select under /\ on zoom camera button
  • Share audio
    • laptop array if surface pro
  • Use Head mount webcam microphone
    • select “Desktop Microphone (2-Microsoft LifeCam Cinema)” under /\ on zoom microphone button
  • Output sound to HDMI screen (if connected to HDMI screen like SmartBoard, etc)
    • select HDMI (e.g. “Crestron Display Audio”) under /\ on zoom microphone button
  • Request control of simulation laptop after trainee shares screen

Simulation Laptop

  • Sign on to zoom/join web meeting
  • Share video – front camera
  • Mute mic
  • Mute Zoom
    • right click on taskbar speaker icon bottom right
    • open Volume Mixer
    • mute Zoom under Applications
  • Output sound to HDMI screen (if connected to HDMI screen like SmartBoard, etc)
    NOTE: unplug/replug HDMI may resolve feedback issues

    • right click on taskbar speaker icon bottom right
    • open Sound Settings
    • choose your output device at top, choose HDMI
  • Share screen
  • Approve remote control once Instructor requests control

Trainee Laptop / Head Cam:

  • Head mount webcam
  • Sign on to zoom/join web meeting
  • Share video – webcam
  • Share audio – webcam
  • Double click desired video feed (probably Instructor video)
